About Us

Created in 2004, the Center of Technological Qualification in Industrial Automation – CTAI was conceived to act across the different fields of Engineering, with a top class teaching and research center that integrates education environments, research labs and projects. CTAI serves, in a differentiated and unique manner, people, entities and companies interested in industrial automation, process control, remote sensing, high performance computing and development of products and processes. CTAI’s Coordination, together with its various members, as well as professors, researchers and students, has always sought to achieve one of its main objectives: make CTAI become, and continuously improve as, a Center of reference and excellence in research development and multidisciplinary extension.
Currently, CTAI is a complex comprised of six main labs dedicat- ed to the study, research, development and execution of projects, teaching and extension activities, namely: Artificial Lift Laboratory – LEA, Control Laboratory, Industrial Automation Laboratory, Milling and Fast Prototyping Lab, Software Laboratory and IVisionLab. The unit also has the Study and Conviviality Area – Prof. Herman Augusto Lepikson, inaugurated on the celebration of ten years of the Center, and which aims at allowing greater interaction among the CTAI team, students and visitors. The complex also comprises a technical-administrative area, with front desk, coordination, professors’ room, technicians’ room and conference room.
